Hi, I’m sarah kelly Reid.
I am a coach, a speaker and a writer.
I’m also a mama, a wife, a friend, a survivor, and a person in long-term recovery. For many years, I struggled with my sense of worth. I threw myself into searching for the “right” job, the “right” relationship, the “right” clothes, anything that could make me feel important in the world. I wanted to be seen and at the same time I wanted to hide. I masked my fear with perfectionism and hoped no one would see through its thin veil.
Then, one day, after lots of work and support, the switch flipped. I had healed. I knew my own worth. And since then there’s been no going back.
Today, I guide people to find their own inner strength, their worth, and to learn to love themselves.
I believe in you. I know there is a light inside of you that is meant to shine. You are worthy of taking up space in this world and living from a place of joy and a sense of empowerment.
Because different things work for different people, I offer a variety of paths for your self-love journey. You can join me for 1:1 coaching, groups, workshops, online courses or retreats.
I currently reside in Portland, Maine with my husband who is the love of my life, our beautiful daughter, and our furbabies. In my spare time you can find me enjoying the ocean or woods, hanging out with my favorite people, cooking, traveling, and binge watching TV.
My approach
Deep inside, you know yourself better than anyone else. You are the expert in your own life. When it comes to coaching, each session is unique and I’m here to hold the space for you and to guide to the answers that are already within, but you may be blocked from accessing on your own.
I also provide information, tools, reflection and evidence based knowledge. As your guide, I use the combination of my education, experience and intuition. Think of it as an intersection of science meets mystic healing.
I work from the model of integrative health, which is a way of understanding how every aspect of your life effects your overall health and well-being. It’s all connected. I also use somatic healing techniques, which connects the body and emotion
In our sessions together, I will hold a mirror for you. I will be gentle and loving, but also direct and truth-telling. I never shy away from the hard stuff, but rather support you through it. I am a trauma informed practitioner who has worked with people who have experienced trauma (big Trauma and little trauma - life itself is full of trauma.) the recovery community, the military community, and those in transitional times such as moves, relationship changes, searching for a new job, etc.

CAREER
When I graduated from college, I had a keen awareness that while I thought I wanted to be in the helping field, I didn’t actually have enough to give. Looking back, it’s a beautiful example of trusting my intuition.
I quickly switched gears from providing direct mental health services to getting the word out that these services exist. I returned to school to pursue a Masters in Communication.
After graduation, I began my career at a national non-profit organization in Washington, DC that focused on health care policy, work-family balance, and workplace fairness. I loved the fast paced nature of the work and learned more in three years than I could have in ten years somewhere else.
During that time, I lost someone important to me to suicide. The experience and intensity of my feelings of grief led me working in military mental health. For a decade, I worked as a government contractor to the Department of Defense for an organization within the military health system that focused on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI).
My career in communications was meaningful and I loved it. I also yearned for the direct impact I had sought as a young undergrad. And I was ready.
When I learned about the Integrative Health Coach program at Duke Integrative Medicine my heart skipped a beat. The model of mind-body-spirit resonated more than anything I had ever done. I found my calling. I launched Sarah Kelly Coaching in 2015.
In 2022, I closed my private coaching business to co-create The Art of Self Worth with my best friend and business partner extraordinaire Sarah Wilkinson.
Lived experience
Coaching is all about you. Every person has their own path and I am your guide to help you along your journey. The modalities of healing that worked for me may not work for you. My job is to hold the space to help guide you the solutions that are right for you, the goals that you want to achieve, and the feelings inside that need voice.
I have walked a path of healing to find my own sense of worth and self-love. I have built sustainable tools to use when I need extra support, or just the everyday support of being human.
Lived experience gives me a level of empathy that combined with my training and professional experiences can help you get from where you are today to where you want to be.
I have known emotional pain so deep it feels as if the world will swallow you whole. If you are in that type of pain, I can meet you there. I do not shy away from painful or hard topics. There are no “bad” feelings — your experiences are all valid.
Through my journey of healing, I also know a depth of joy that opens the stars in the heaven. I believe you can know that same kind of joy and I would love to help you bring your dreams to reality.
Today, I can share that I experience abundant love, cherished family and friends, have traveled to six continents, lived abroad and in big cities, met beautiful people of different cultures, healed my mind, body and heart, married the love of my life, given birth to a beautiful child, the list can go on and on.
